Step-by-Step

How to create a Bluesky share link

Bluesky's compose intent takes a single text parameter.

  1. 1

    Write your post

Type the message readers will share. Hashtags and @mentions can go directly in the text.

  2. 2

    Attach a URL

Add the link and we append it on a new line, because Bluesky's intent has no separate url parameter.

  3. 3

    Copy and place the button

Use the compose link on your blog, newsletter or QR sign. Visitors sign in to Bluesky and the draft is waiting.

Bluesky share buttons are still rare, so they make your site stand out.

Private by design

Everything runs in your browser. What you type is never uploaded or stored.

Instant & free

No signup, no watermark and no expiring links — the QR encodes your link directly.

Print-ready

Download the QR as PNG/SVG or print a styled card for tables, stickers and packaging.

Bluesky share link FAQ

What is the Bluesky intent URL?

https://bsky.app/intent/compose?text=… opens the post composer with that text. It is the Bluesky equivalent of Twitter's intent/tweet link.

Is there a character limit?

Posts are limited to 300 characters (graphemes). The tool counts them and warns if you go over.

Can I mention a user?

Yes, include their full handle such as @name.bsky.social in the text. Bluesky turns it into a mention when posted.

Does this need an account or API key?

No. It's a plain link; the reader signs in on Bluesky and presses Post.
