How to make a Wi-Fi QR code
Works on iPhone 11+ and Android 10+ with the built-in camera.
- 1
Type your network details
Enter the exact SSID and password and select the security type (WPA is right for nearly all modern routers).
- 2
Style the card
Edit the heading, choose colours and decide whether to print the password beneath the QR as a fallback.
- 3
Print and display
Download the PNG or use Print to place the card in rooms, on tables or at reception.
If you change your router password later, regenerate and reprint the card.
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is never uploaded or stored.
Instant & free
No signup, no watermark and no expiring links — the QR encodes your link directly.
Print-ready
Download the QR as PNG/SVG or print a styled card for tables, stickers and packaging.
Wi-Fi QR code FAQ
How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?
It encodes a WIFI: string — WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;; — that iOS and Android cameras recognise, offering a 'Join network' prompt.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The QR code and card are generated entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
What if the password has special characters?
Characters like ; , : \ and " are escaped automatically, so complex passwords scan correctly.
Should I print the password too?
Printing it helps older devices and guests without a QR scanner. Skip it if you want to keep the password private — the QR code alone is enough for most phones.
