WooCommerce add-to-cart link FAQ

How does ?add-to-cart= work?

WooCommerce adds the product with that ID to the visitor's cart whenever the add-to-cart query parameter is present on a page. Pointing the URL at /checkout/ sends them straight to payment.

How do I link to a variable product?

Use the parent product ID in add-to-cart and the chosen variation ID in variation_id. Some themes also require attribute_* values (for example attribute_pa_color=blue).

Can I apply a coupon in the URL?

Core WooCommerce does not apply coupons from the URL. A free coupon-URL plugin can do it, or you can add the code on the cart page.

Where can I find product and variation IDs?

In WordPress go to Products and hover a product row to see its ID. Variation IDs appear in the variation panel of the product editor.
